DAY 4 OF E.O.T.C WEEK

Another super day, Room 5 rode in cars to the Koura Farm. Stopping on the way to cheer the rest of the Junior school on as they biked down the rail trail to the farm. We got to have a hands on experience with the Koura and nobody got nipped! The grounds are amazing at the farm and we got to walk around them and pick fruit from the fruit trees (yummy) Thanks to all our Mums, Dads and extended family who joined in today.

DAY 3 OF E.O.T.C.WEEK

Wednesday morning was spent at school making poi. We had a fun time making up our own moves to share at Assembly on Friday.

We had such a fantastic afternoon at the Kings block. Thank you so much Fiona for sharing your slice of paradise with us all. We all flew, swung and splashed into the cool water of the dam! Thanks Mrs Kitto for these photos.

DAY 2 OF E.O.T.C WEEK

This morning we started the day with a bus ride into Alexandra. For some of the us in Room 5 this was the first  time we had traveled in a bus. We spent a very informative and fun time at Waste Busters and the Refuse Centre. It is such a busy place! and we have lots of ideas of what we can do to reduce our on waste at school and home. Thank you Mr Steve Brown from Enviro Schools for making this happen.
Our afternoon was spent visiting Pulse Fitness. We had a super time with Camille and Pippa trying out lots of different exercises and equipment. It was such a fun way to burn of extra energy after lunch!

DAY ONE OF E.O.T.C WEEK.

Today was the first day of the world famous (in Clyde) E.O.T.C Week.
E.O.T.C stands for Education outside of the classroom and for one full week each year we all leave our classrooms and explore our local environment.
Day One- These photos show us enjoying games lead by our Buddy Class in the morning.
Also walking to the Clyde lookout with the rest of the junior school.
Thanks to all our Mum's who came along this afternoon. We cooled off with ice blocks after.

Tasting Beetroot.

Here we are trying some very delicious beetroot that Pippa and the Enviro Group prepared for us. The beetroot grew in our school garden. Ruby Dog came for a visit also, however she was more interested in playing fetch the ball with us than eating beetroot!
THANKS PIPPA, ENVIRO GROUP & RUBY DOG

ENVIRO SCHOOL GARDEN

Clyde Primary's Enviro Group have been sharing the spoils of their green thumbs. With the help of Mrs Kitto they made some scummy coleslaw for us all to try at lunchtime today. The garden is blooming at the moment with fantastic vegetables. Keep up the hard work Enviro Group.

HOUSE GROUP SPORTS

A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR YEAR 7 AND 8 LEADERS, WHO LEAD THE SCHOOL IN AN AFTERNOON OF SMALL BALL SKILLS. We enjoyed an afternoon in the sun, playing small ball skills games that our school leaders planned and lead for us. We all divided into our house groups (Sunderland, Hazlett, Blyth and Fraser). We had a great time and caught up with our friends from other classes.

Numbers to 10

HERE IS A SNAPSHOT OF OUR DAY. During maths today the Room 5 learners worked on ordering and forming groups to 10. We used flashcards, worms counters, ladybirds counters and threaded number beads. We finished by playing snakes and ladders on the giant board outside.

ROOM 5 FACES. Can you guess who they are?
We have many things in common and many differences. These things are part of what makes us all special and unique. We have been talking about some of the things that make us special. We all live in the Clyde/Alexandra area. Here are our houses.
